                Overview

Dhaka International University (DIU) is one of the leading, familiar and note-worthy private universities in Bangladesh which was established on 7th April 1995. It is a non-profitable institution having strict academic discipline. This university was founded by Late Alhaj Professor Dr. A. B. M. Mafizul Islam Patwari, Former Chairman of the Department of Law, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is recognized that Dhaka International University is such a private university, which was founded by a person who was a renowned humanist and academician. He established this university with high hopes and aspirations to disseminate knowledge and thus to extend the horizon of knowledge. That is why, the motto of DIU is the universal adage, "Knowledge is Power". DIU generates this power of Knowledge in an individual through teaching-learning, training, research and guidance by using modern, pragmatic and well-designed curriculum and syllabus.

Convocation of Dhaka International University (DIU)

Chairman Board of Trustees expressed his firm determination and said ‘Dhaka International University will continue to maintain its high academic standard for which it has been acclaimed both at home and abroad over the past several years and continue to contribute in its nation building endeavor.’

Professor Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed, Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor, DIU presided over the ceremony. Justice Nimuddin, graced the occasion as Convocation Speaker. Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), DIU & Prof. Dr. Nurul Momen, Vice-Chancellor, DIU spoke on the occasion.

Professor Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed, Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor, DIU extended his heartiest congratulations and felicitations to all graduating students and wished them very successful career and accomplished life. He also thanked the Authority of the University for imparting quality education for the students from the very beginning.

Prof. Dr. Nurul Momen, Vice-Chancellor, DIU said in his speech that ‘DIU is one of the leading private universities has earned reputation for quality of its graduates. Our effort towards excellence in higher education has succeeded in placing our graduates in all corners of the globe and within the nation. Through their contribution and hard work they have been able to earn an enviable reputation. There is a fierce competition among brighter students to study at DIU who are selected on a very fair and competitive basis. I wish all the graduates great success in life’.

Convocation Speaker Justice Naimuddin said in his speech that ‘I hope and pray that Dhaka International University will build on its considerable achievements of the past to be of greater service to the nation and to humanity at large. My warmest good wishes for a bright future of the graduating students and Dhaka International University.’

In the convocation Members of the DIU Trustee Board, Syndicate, Academic Council, Finance and Disciplinary Committee, Deans of the Faculties of DIU, Heads of the Departments of DIU, teachers, officers and employees of DIU were present in the 1st Convocation.

Following the Convocation, a colorful cultural programmed was arranged in the university campus where the graduates along with the teachers, officers, staffs and some distinguished guests participated.IVERSITY

The Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) was founded by the Dhaka Ahsania Mission in 1995. Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-profit voluntary organization in Bangladesh. The Mission was established in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an outstanding educationist and social reformer of undivided India. With his own vision of a better society, characterized by a wealth of moral and spiritual values of the highest humanism that are universally acclaimed through ages and manifested in every sphere of life�social, economic and cultural; and access to education and resources, he established the Mission. His remarkable educational reforms include among others introduction of roll number system in the public examination and creating equal opportunity for education of all groups of people in the society.                    Besides, he has contributed to the society by writing a large number of books covering a wide range of areas from human and social life, history, human development, literature, religion, biography, moral values etc.               Though initially charity and welfare activities were the major focus of the Mission agenda, it has expanded its arena of activities leaning towards sustainable development strategies with the passage of time since early 1980s. VISION & MISSION OF THE UNIVERSITY   The Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology will be the premier centre of excellence in science, engineering and technology by creating and transferring knowledge with human touch to the young generations to come to enhance the quality of life in Bangladesh and beyond.
